Thank you to everyone who came to my book signing today. The signing was 2-4 pm and at the stroke of four, someone came and bought the last book in the store! It was a great day of seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Thanks, friends!

I just finished a vignette for my next book project with Jeni Leidenfrost, and thought I’d post the progress of how I create an illustration. I start with a sketch. After transferring the desired outline to my watercolor paper with tracing paper and graphite, I paint in preliminary shading. Next, I add more definition to the shading. Finally, I add the color and detail over the top of the shading.
The result: Bun Bun has (pretend) tea from a fancy cup while demonstrating bad posture.
I’ll be setting up camp at BookPeople of Moscow, 521 S. Main, Moscow, Idaho, on March 5th from 2-4pm to sign copies of Waiting Through Winter, by Jason Farley and illustrated by yours truly.
Our book will be available to buy at BookPeople. If you already have a copy, bring it and I’ll sign it. You can buy something else while you’re there (I’ll sign that too, if you want).

Here are some random, mysterious details of illustrations from my next book project. Aren’t you excited to read it when it comes out!?! It will be super-cool. Trust me.
I had fun painting these lovelies at a wonderful paint your own pottery studio, Wild@Art. I’ll be donating them for an auction to benefit my children’s school.
2015 was a fun and exciting year. It saw the publication of a children’s book that I illustrated, Waiting Through Winter, and, at one point, that book hit #1 New Release in Stories in Verse on Amazon. My hopes are high for a productive 2016. I’m also hoping to get better at writing witty, engaging blog posts in 2016, but for now, I’m settling for informational.
